Julian Fleming, a former wide receiver from Ohio State and Penn State, has signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL Draft. Over four seasons at Ohio State, Fleming recorded 79 receptions for 963 yards and seven touchdowns, before transferring to Penn State for his final year, where he added 14 receptions for 176 yards and one touchdown. He joins former Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford and offensive tackle Rasheed Walker in Green Bay. Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars have also signed fellow undrafted free agent Sal Wormley, an offensive lineman from Penn State.

The Green Bay Packers are poised for the 2025 NFL Draft with eight picks, seeking to address key roster needs following a challenging 2024 season. General Manager Brian Gutekunst and Head Coach Matt LaFleur aim to solidify their competitive edge in the NFC, particularly focusing on the quarterback position. Currently, Jordan Love, Malik Willis, and Sean Clifford form a stable core, reducing immediate urgency to draft a QB. However, given the uncertainty of Willis’ impending contract situation and Clifford’s limited performance, the Packers may still consider selecting a quarterback for future stability.

The quarterback draft class, however, presents challenges. According to Dane Brugler of The Athletic, only six quarterbacks are projected to land in the top 100 picks, indicating a lack of depth. The Packers may benefit from targeting potential developmental QBs on Day 3 of the draft, especially if they find a player who fits their system and can eventually replace one of the current backups.
